M-Cube Environmental Graphics

M-Cubed Logo

A financial asset management company.  An interior designer had already specified much of the internal furniture and colour scheme so we had to keep this in mind when designing the brochure dispenser located in the waiting area.  When it came to the external environmental graphics we were able to focus fully on ‘the cube’.

Playing on the company name, “the cube” sign was constructed of sand-blasted 10mm glass with aluminium clad bulging type.  ‘cube’ was beaten to create a 3-d (three dimensional) fullness.  The horizontal anodised aluminium tubes were positioned to enhance the building corbelling and be an integral component and not an add-on afterthought.

Exiting the building, the tower signage can be seen and is the landmark identifying m-cubed’s location.

From William Nicol the tower sign is readily visible, playing on the cubed theme.  The side panels were beaten to portray the healthy fiscal growth.  The top cube was illuminated as well as having four down-lighters to embellish the side panels at night.

The fountain was square.  So we made a pyramid comprising layers of cubes.  At the top was an illuminated glass cube with water gushing out.  Symbolising a wellspring; a source of wealth, like a fountainhead.  The vertical panels were made of beaten aluminium, the horizontal panels were custom ceramic tiles which incorporating genuine silver domes.  Designed to appear like water droplets and associated ripples.

The Reception/waiting area.  The brochure dispenser was designed to enhance the furniture which was already specified by the interior designer.  Light Maple wood was used in conjunction with natural anodised aluminium.  A sophisticated feel was the intent.

‘Pocket’ detail, the brochure support at the base of the pocket was also a square.

‘Base’ detail, elements were in three’s i.e. 3x aluminium tube uprights, 3x levels to the base, 3x square supports either side of the aluminium tubes.
