White wings with white dancer shoes which was adorned with white marabou on front top. The shoes were custom hand made to accommodate the size 2 shoe of the dancer.
Being so petite the dancer had a unitard custom made. It was a multi-colour sequined lycra unitard. The shirt was gathered at the waist with 3 layers of tulle, tulle skirt in white green and red. Pointed handkerchief hemline. The costume was completed with a white long haired wig.
The Fairy Wings went through three stages of growth throughout the play. This culminated with the addition of colour to the Fairy outfit. A harness was designed to accept 3 sets of wings which were attached ‘in the wings’ during the scenes. The wings were made from a lightweight aluminium. Tulle covered the shape of the wings to create a light transparent realistic looking set of wings.
The wings had to be simple, quick and strong. The dancer had to change within minutes back stage. The transformation was faultless and the play a success.
