Everyday household utensils often go unnoticed, yet we interact with them daily. So why not create affordable art objects to adorn our dinner table and enrich our immediate environment?
Of all the objects that land up on a table none is more iconic than the salt and pepper set.
Above are three exciting new concepts for Salt & Pepper Cellars. These are working models made from steel.
Sea-urchin inspired Salt & Pepper set. The set represents a brother and sister pair. Not exactly the same, but conceptually linked in appearance and spirit. The salt cellar has 4-ribs and is tall while the pepper cellar has 5-ribs and is short. Each rib has a hole for the condiment to exit. The ribs are not only for aesthetic reasons they also aid grip. The Sea Urchin set is finished in an appealing satin finish.
The geometric Salt & Pepper set. The pepper cellar is a sphere with patina filled craters resembling a peppercorn finished as a dark surface. The salt cellar is a cube with smooth satin-finish planes imitating a crystal and is therefore finished in a light finish. They both have three legs; however the pepper has organic-curved tapering uneven legs while the salt has geometric-curved constant radius cylindrical legs. Well why not and it makes for a fun table display.
